VP and Professor Floyd Cheung will read from and discuss his newly edited book, The Literature of Japanese American Incarceration, on February 19 at 4:30 p.m. in the Poetry Center at Smith College.
On February 19, 1942, FDR signed Executive Order 9066, which authorized the incarceration of more than 125,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry who shared the same race as a wartime enemy. February 19 every year is now a Day of Remembrance dedicated to learning about this event in American history.
