The botanic garden showcases exhibits regularly. Throughout Lyman Plant House you’ll find both temporary and permanent exhibits. Our temporary exhibits serve as an educational opportunity through art that features a variety of botanical and horticultural themes, as well as on social and environmental issues.
Upcoming Exhibit: Pollination Investigation
Pollination Investigation is a new poster exhibition from The Smithsonian Institution Exhibits Traveling Services and Smithsonian Gardens coming to the Church Gallery in Lyman Plant House this fall. The exhibit invites visitors to explore profiles on types of pollinators including, bees, beetles, butterflies, hummingbirds, flies, moths, and the wind; and the essential role that pollinators play in the natural world.

Permanent Exhibits
Throughout Lyman Plant House, there are two permanent exhibits: Plant Life Through the Ages and Woods of the World. Plant Life Through the Ages is a 60-foot mural exhibit, consisting of eight panels depicting great moments in plant evolution. The Woods of the World exhibit consists of 178 unique woods from all parts of the globe and hangs from the walls and ceiling near the north entrance of Lyman. Explore them.
